A few years ago, flash drives were not yet the "in" medium when it comes to digital storage owing to their expensive price. The price of these storage devices would then drop drastically, which translated to greater use among the general population. In fact, it is even more popular these days to just store data up their in the Internet cloud without any need for a physical device anymore.
Years ago, CDs and DVDs were the primary medium of storage for data of all kinds. I remember bringing a handful of blank CDs or DVDs with me everywhere I go just in case I needed to burn data. Of course the Internet was already there, but for larger chunks of data, a CD is a more practical thing to have in my bag. The popularity of CDs and DVDs eventually faded. Though movie DVDs are still produced by Hollywood, their popularity as a data storage tool for ordinary users is not there anymore. What is left among the spare CDs and DVDs are materials for a good arts and crafts project. Imagine all the waste that CDs and DVDs would make if we all just threw them in the garbage? We can certainly do something about these things with our sense of creativity. Their ability to scatter white light into different colors make them an ideal fixture for a home decoration. At the top of my head, I could think of using decorated CDs and DVDs as decors to the Christmas tree. Why spend so much money on expensive Christmas tree decoration when we can use CDs to hang in there? That would give any Christmas tree a modern and uniquely geeky spin! Other uses for CDs and DVDs that are viable include coasters, candleholders, and even wall decors. If used properly with the room lighting, your room could turn into an instant party place because of the shiny CDs and DVDs that are stuck to the walls. There may come a time when the production of CDs and DVDs will come to a halt, similar to how the production of VHS came to an end. In the meantime, however, let's try to make good use of whatever CDs and DVDs we have at home and turn them into useful home decors. You can talk about...
