An idea book is a great tool to have when you are feeling like you have already run out of great ideas to help you make your crafts. Idea books generally take work from the ideas from others and compile them together into a publication that will help you take off from their ideas and generate your own. Most of the time, idea books are filled mostly with pictures because images easily convey a lot of ideas, and they're also generally easier to comprehend than blocks of text.
Sadly, idea books can cost you quite a fortune as it is also difficult to put it in a lot of ideas compiled into one book. So while you still have the creative juices in place, why don't you attempt to create your own idea book? This idea book can then be lent to your friends or to your local arts and crafts club. You can even use it for your own perusal during times when you're having creative droughts. Ideally, it could be a book full of pictures, but you could do it in scrapbook format. Through this format, you can include past projects, projects that you want to do, or practically any idea that you came across with but was still unable to take any action on. Eventually you'll get stuck without any ideas. Your idea book will give you the ideas that you are trying to have. If you're really interested in making an idea book, the first thing that you have to have is an actual book where you can put it in your work. You can get one of these spiral blank scrapbooks in your local scrapbooking store. Their pages are a bit larger than those of ordinary notebooks, plus they are unlined. So what exactly do you put in an idea book? If you've had too much ideas in the past, this won't be a difficult question to answer. Maybe you've kept some patterns that you want to put on your next project. Or maybe you want to put in magazine clippings instead. Or maybe sketches that you've made out yourself. There are really no rules, as long as you know that that idea can come in handy someday. The page is yours!
