Your Arts N Crafts ArticlesMaking Your Art Stand Out
Let's face it. There just really are a lot of artists out there, competing in order to have some bit of fame. While true artists may tell you that art should not be something that should be competed on, artists still have to make money in order to live, and they won't be able to do this if all they had were art.
Have you ever seen a piece of art that somehow connected to you. Every visual details seems to be a single gasp of breathe for you. Every color makes your life extra-colorful. This is a piece of art that stands out. It does not necessarily have to be flamboyant. It should only be able to connect to your audience, which should be the goal of the artist in the first place. An artist becomes a failure when he fails to communicate his/her art with the people around him/her. The first thing you have to know is something about yourself. What do you think makes your art extra-special? Surely, your artwork is unique as everything else in this world. Is it the interesting way that you use in order to mix and match colors? Or is it the brush strokes? It's really difficult to tell, but I am sure that as an artist, you can do it on your own. Now think about the audience that you want to communicate with. Learn about their style, their personal preferences, and their personalities, if possible. Does your own personality and artistic style somehow sync with your audience? If it does, then you are in the right track. If not, you may have to reconsider changing your audience because it's easier than changing your own artistic personality. When you've determined what makes you and your audience tick, then it's time to work on your art. And then sell it to them. Again, you really don't have to stand out in the sense that you have to be flamboyant with your colors. You just have to make that connection. And once you've attracted the attention of your audience, it's time to keep it. Use an email management system in order to keep them hooked. You can talk about...
